Top ten things I wish I had known as a first year educator

  1. Be prepared - helps develop the knowledge and skill you need, to become a effective teacher in the classroom.
  2. Relating to students - establishing a sense of trust and respect among the students will help create an environment where the students feel confident.
  3. Not all students are the same - all the students behave and learn different.
  4. Discipline methods - it can help my teaching style. If my students know what I expected of them, it will be much more helpful on teaching the class.
  5. Organized - have students in their proper place at the proper time.
  6. Consistent - helps carry out duties to help improve student performance and conduct.
  7. Fairness - providing students equal and quality education.
  8. Flexibility - should be able able to overcome any instructional issues.
  9. Classroom management - actions in the classroom have a big impact on students achievements.
  10. Be confident - I will create a clear discipline and a confident class.
